For the school year 2023-2024, all breakfast and lunch meals are free under the U.S. Department of Agriculture Community Eligibility Provision (USDA CEP). While meals are free to all families, they will ONLY be provided to students whose families have made meal reservations in advance.
Nuestro Mundo’s mission is to prepare our students to be global citizens and conscientious stewards of the environment and their communities. One of the ways to achieve this is to mitigate food waste. We order meals from our caterer based on the meal count reports found in the EZ School Apps. Each meal is reserved and accounted for. Hence, there is no extra food.
Please reserve your child’s meals in a timely manner.
All meals are free for the 2023-2024 school year under the USDA CEP (Community Eligibility Provision). This may change in the future. We are committed to supplying affordable and health options for our students to support their wellness and leaning.
Meals are ordered through our EZ School Apps.
It is the sole responsibility of every parent and/or child to select their meal options for every school day they wish to eat meals at the school. If an option is not selected, then your child must bring a nut-free packed lunch from home.
To help reserve meals, monthly menus will be posted on the School Story of Class Dojo.
We strongly encourage you to have a conversation with your child about their lunch preferences (hot meal, salad, or sandwich). This will help us ensure that they will receive their ordered food and that they will be well-nourished and ready to learn while in school.
While we strongly suggest that selections be made for the whole month, reservations MUST be made by Tuesday evening on a biweekly basis, beginning on the Tuesday before the week of the first day of school.
Our food services are provided and catered through B&M Catering.
Nuestro Mundo is a nut-free school. If your child has a food allergy (milk, eggs, wheat, soy, tree nuts, peanuts, fish, and shellfish) or food intolerance (lactose intolerance and celiac disease), please submit your child’s health form to our school nurse. This information will help us communicate with our meal provider. For example, lactaid will be provided for those who have lactose intolerance.
Please send your inquiries via email to Dr. Frances Murphy, Food Service Manager, at fmurphy@nmpcs.k12.ri.us.
