Nuestro Mundo 6th and 7th graders took up knitting and crocheting for their E-STEAM project-based learning. If you have any yarns, knitting sticks, crochet hooks, please send them to Dr. Susan at E-STEAM Center to kindle their enthusiasm. Fabric remnants, threads, and sewing needles, too for sewing as next to learn. E-STEAM stands for Environmental Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math. Knitting and sewing engage our students into all of E-STEAM disciplines.

Storytime Online and NM Partnership

Storytime Online is an online platform where children can access a wide range of stories translated into over 15 different languages. Andreas von Sachsen-Altenburg, the founder of Storytime Online, recently visited Nuestro Mundo kindergarten classrooms to engage both English and Spanish sections with guided storytime.

We are also happy to share that NM's co-founders, Dr. Maruszczak and Katie Cardamone, have been featured in an article where they spoke about the importance of dual-literacy resources in schools. Read more here.

NM partnership with the Onward We Learn!

Nuestro Mundo has partnered with College Crusades to give our middle school students the opportunity to participate in this amazing program. Once you are in the program you stay enrolled for all four years of high school and beyond!

A K-8 independent charter school located in Providence, Nuestro Mundo serves Providence children by centering on Project-Based Learning (PBL) and bilingual education.

Beginning with grades Kindergarten, 1st, and 6th grades, Nuestro Mundo will ultimately grow to serve approximately 425 students. As a small, growing charter school, Nuestro Mundo prioritizes a classroom culture where teachers and students develop bonds that cater to their personal and academic development. With a 20:1 student-to-faculty ratio, our class sizes allow for a refreshing, rigorous approach to learning while at the same time facilitating familiar relationships that foster respect and inclusivity.

The school focuses on the educational principles of environmental sustainability as established by the U.N.'s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and Dual Language Immersion (English and Spanish). As stated in our mission, students at Nuestro Mundo receive core academic subjects and learn topics of climate change, global inequalities, and social movements. By implementing current, real-world issues, we assure that students have the opportunity to relate their academic learning to practical, real-world applications.
